BEN ROJAS

Awarding winning Editor / Producer Ben "REDD" Rojas began his career, oddly enough, in the hospitality industry working for hotel giant Marriott in various facets of management.  It was there that a team attitude and relentless drive to exceed customer expectations was born. A childhood passion turned weekend club-gig, DeeJaying, refined Ben's auditory senses. Florida International University’s School of Journalism & Mass Communications shaped his mind… But it's 20 plus years editing, compositing and most recently producing and directing that has polished his creative talents.  

Ben has worked at many of South Florida’s top facilities throughout the years... KSC KREATE where he helped create the video & film division and later launching KREATE FILMS; the renowned post facility, VTA, GA. (Vision Touch Amplify) tapped Ben in 2004 to help open VTA FL.in Hollywood and many others including: Manhattan Transfer Miami, Estefan Television Productions, BVI (Broadcast Video Inc.) and Discovery Channel's Discovery Production Group. In 2000, PanAmerican Sports Network was born and it was there that Ben took on both the creative and business side of Network television as it's Chief Editor.

Adept at long or short format, brands (Benefit Cosmetics, City Furniture, Karisma Resorts, Turbana Banana), networks (ESPN, Discovery, NBC Telemundo) and content creators (One World Sports Media, The Brand Group, KSC Kreate) turn to Ben for creative editorial, production and post-postproduction.  Currently, REDD is busy with 2 episodic's, the award-winning Aussie's Abroad seen on ESPN Australia and the action-packed docu-reality series "DRUG WARS", which will air on FUSION in the fall of 2014.

In 2005, Ben's feature film portfolio took form with “Hitters Anonymous”; an action packed dark comedy directed by Monte A. Young starring Steven Bauer, Clint Howard and Linda Blair. In 2009: "JARRING", a psycho-thriller directed by Ivo Raza. In 2010 Ben & Ivo joined creative forces again on “Renting Washers” a satirically short-film that took bronze at the 2011 Park City Music Film Festival. In 2012, while at KREATE FILMS, Ben edited and post-supervised “FINDING JOY”; a romantic comedy starring Josh Cooke, Liane Balaban, Barry Bostwick and Laine Kazan.  For his most recent film project, Ben again teamed up with director Ivo Raza on the award winning short “17 Hours In Bed” staring David Lipper.

Fast forward to 2019 and Discovery, Inc. is Ben's current home. Editing, Producing and Directing for the Discovery Family Channel, Ben continues to think outside the box and create content for multipurpose use and various platforms. DFC's Shark Days of Summer shorts (2017 & 2018) and Wild Days of Summer shorts (2018) scored high ratings on linear and non-linear platforms alike.
